Virginia’s Small Business Certification Program (SWaM) The Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned (SWaM) business certification is Virginia’s small business program to enhance procurement opportunities for SWaM businesses participating in state funded projects. Join us to learn the advantages of SWaM certification and how to apply for it. 

Speaker: Verniece Love, Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity

Verniece A. Love is currently the Director of SWaM and DBE Certification at the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity.  At SBSD, Verniece manages the Commonwealth’s Small, Women-owned, and/or Minority-owned Business (SWaM) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification Programs.  Prior to this role, she held various positions at the same agency as well as the Department of Minority Business Enterprise where she was also involved with the Commonwealth’s small business programs.  Verniece received her B.S. in Marketing and her M.S. in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University and has over 10 years of experience in small business programs to include diversity, equity, and inclusion.
